Worship

Sunday morning worship is at 10:00 am. It is a traditional service following the liturgy of the Reformed Church of America. Audio cassettes of the service are available through the Tape Ministry.

A major focus of church life is what happens during Sunday morning worship and special services. The Worship Committee works with the Pastor and Director of Music to design the format of these services for the maximum benefit of church members and visitors. We recruit, train and schedule lay readers for each Sunday. The committee also works with the Pastor to schedule baptisms and the receiving of new members.

The committee oversees the Music Ministry program including singing choirs and bell choirs for all ages, children and adults. More information about these choirs can be found on the music page of this website.

The Worship Committee also makes arrangements for serving communion on the first Sunday of every month. All are invited to participate in the sacrament of Holy Communion.

Special services at United Reformed Church include: Laity Sunday, Youth Sunday, Lessons and Carols, Christmas Eve, Wednesdays in Lent, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Marigold Sunday (Mother's Day). We participate in community services for September 11 and Thanksgiving.

The Worship Committee strives to make worship a meaningful, personal and spiritual experience for all worshippers at United.
