Pre-School

Purpose

The purpose of the United Reformed Church Preschool is to provide a program which will foster children's physical, social, emotional and spiritual growth and cognitive development in the preschool years. It focuses on providing a place where children will feel loved and accepted while exploring the world. It is here that children will take that giant step away from home and begin to recognize themselves as a part of a larger group. Here they will develop readiness for kindergarten.

All children in the community are welcome. The Preschool is overseen by the Christian Education Committee of the church. Christian principles are presented within the total program. We believe that we are created by our God to be loved and cared for, and to come to know love and how to care for others. The philosophy of the school incorporates these beliefs.

Goals

The school strives to create a spirit of enthusiasm and encourage student and parent participation. In an environment conducive to learning, the curriculum enables children to develop basic skills as well as self-confidence and independence. Basic skills are presented in a fun and entertaining manner. Activities include: creative arts and crafts, varied readiness activities, music, story time, free and structured play. A variety of field trips are also provided.
